How to build an actual website out of a free blogging platform.

Looking to uplevel your business?  Are you using a free blogging platform to run your business?  If so, upleveling to a self hosted WordPress site needs to be your first step.  Why?

First, the terms and conditions clearly state (all free blogging platforms) that you cannot market or sell anything from their sites.  And this is not just a urban myth.

You might say that you’ve been doing this for forever, or you know many people who do, but that doesn’t save you from waking up one morning, logging onto your site, and it is gone. Forever. No warning. No explanation. No nothing. Essentially, your business will be gone.

I use (and highly encourage others as well) Bluehost for hosting everything related to my businesses.  If you only purchase one year of hosting at a time, it will cost you $7.95 + tax USD per month.  That’s about $95 per year, and they will give you your first domain name. Purchase 2 years at at time and the price goes down to $65 per year.  This has to be the cheapest form of advertising available to any business anywhere.   (By the way, you can host 5 full websites, WordPress or traditional, with this hosting package, without any additional charges.  So if you have several free blogging platform sites, you can bring them all over).
