Uploading an image into WordPress

Log in to site.  Click on either New Page or New Post.  You should see this:

Note: The picture you want to upload to the post or page must first be saved on your computer somewhere.

If you have difficulty finding saved files, save it on your desktop for ease of locating it in the browser loader.

Place the cursor where you want the image to go.  Now click on the button to open the browser which will find your picture.

Look for this area on your dashboard.

Click on the button above the tool bar, right next to Upload/Insert, that looks like this:

A new window will open:

Click the Browser Uploader link (rather than the Flash Uploader).  It seems to work every time.  It will now look like the image below:

Click on Browse and it will show the files on your computer.  Navigate to the file you wish to upload and then click on the Upload button. Another window will open and you will see something very much like the image below:

You can fill in the description, and give it a caption (this is explained in more detail in the tutorial called Wordpress: A Step by Step tutorial).  Choose the Alignment, meaning do you want the words to go around the picture, to the left of the picture, to the right of the picture or do you want the picture to be centered.  Click Insert into Post, which is right below the Thumbnail radio button option.

The image should now be in your post like this.
