WordPress Online Automated Backup

As you know by now, I lost all the content of my site earlier in September. I’d installed WordPress on a parked domain, not knowing that what you do to a parked domain, you’re actually doing to your primary domain (boy did I feel stupid afterward). Or read about it here: How I Crashed My Site and Lost All of the Content, Forever!
Since that “accident” I’ve done some research around plug-ins and methods of backing up WordPress sites. And I’ve come across a WordPress plug-in that seems to be working really well. It’s called WordPress online automated backup.
Once you’ve uploaded the plug-in and activated it, go to the link I’ve provided in this post and read about the service they provide and the steps you need to take to make sure that your site is secure.
The plug in works with a site out on the net called WordPressbackup.com. You will have to sign up for an account and your backups will actually be kept there rather than on your computer. The accounts are free until your site is a certain size and then you may have to pay a fee for backing up large sites.
I’ve included the link below so that you can go there to read more on exactly how the site works.

I’d really appreciate your comments on this post. Do you have any experience with this site and plugin? Or do you have knowledge of another site and/or plugin that you’ve had really good results with. Or that you’ve had disastrous results with? Let us know in a comment.

This is a useful post for anyone with a WordPress blog. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I’m wondering though, isn’t this plugin only useful if you’re hosted on wp.com?
Hi Paul
Thanks. It was pretty shocking. Actually, I have a self hosted blogsite and this plugin is designed for self-hosted blogs. Not sure what
they would do on wp.com.
Thanks very much for your comment.
